The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you may be working alongside the class teacher to support pupils across the curriculum, providing individual or small-group support and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Depending on your experience and the needs of the school, responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning in the classroom
• Working with individuals and small groups
• Providing additional support to pupils with SEND
• Helping pupils to remain engaged and focused
• Supporting the class teacher with activities and classroom organisation
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence and progress
• Helping to maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who:

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Are patient, positive and able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Have good communication skills
• Are reliable and adaptable
• Enjoy working as part of a school team
• Have a genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development

Previous school-based experience is desirable, although relevant experience from other childcare, SEND, youth work or education settings may also be considered.
