About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils access learning and enjoy their time at school.

Your role may include:

• Providing 1:1 support for individual pupils
• Working with small groups
• Supporting children during classroom activities
• Helping pupils with communication and social skills
• Supporting children with routines and transitions
• Encouraging confidence and independence
• Working closely with teachers and SEN staff
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom

The exact responsibilities will depend on the school and the needs of the pupils.
