Are You an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant Looking for Your Next Opportunity?
Forward Teaching is recruiting an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEN Hub based in a mainstream primary school in Southwark.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and understands the importance of creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
We’re looking for someone who can bring patience, consistency and genuine experience to the role.
The Role
Working as part of the school’s SEN provision, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.

Providing individual and small-group learning support.

Helping pupils access learning activities adapted to their individual needs.
-
Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
-
Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement.
-
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other support professionals.

Following individual support plans, school policies and safeguarding procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous SEN experience is essential.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who have:

Experience working with children with SEN in a school or specialist setting.

Ideally a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, although Level 3 is highly desirable.

Additional training in autism, communication needs or other relevant SEND areas.

A calm, patient and adaptable approach.

Strong behaviour support and communication skills.
-
The ability to work effectively within a specialist team.
Candidates with practical SEN experience alongside relevant professional training are strongly encouraged to apply.
