We’re interested in hearing from experienced Teaching Assistants as well as people with relevant experience working with children who would like to develop their career within a school environment.

The Role

Depending on the school and assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils during classroom lessons and activities
• Working with individuals and small groups
• Helping children with literacy and numeracy activities
• Supporting pupils who need additional help to access learning
• Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
• Helping children develop confidence and independence
• Supporting interventions directed by the class teacher
• Preparing resources and helping maintain an organised classroom
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff
• Following school safeguarding policies and procedures

• Have experience working with primary-aged children
• Are patient, positive and approachable
• Build good relationships with children
• Communicate confidently with pupils and colleagues
• Are reliable and professional
• Can adapt their approach to different children and situations
• Enjoy working as part of a school team
• Understand the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries

Previous school experience is beneficial, but relevant experience from childcare, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, SEND or other child-focused settings may also be suitable.
