We’re keen to hear from experienced Teaching Assistants, as well as people with relevant transferable experience who are considering moving into education.

About the Teaching Assistant Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside the class teacher to help children participate in learning and get the most from their school day.

Depending on the placement, responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils during classroom activities
• Working with individuals and small groups
• Helping with literacy and numeracy activities
• Encouraging pupils to become confident and independent learners
• Supporting children who need additional help
• Helping prepare classroom resources
• Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff

The exact responsibilities will depend on the school, year group and individual placement.
