About the KS1 Teacher Role

Depending on the placement, you could provide daily supply cover, take responsibility for a class during a longer-term absence or support a school with an ongoing staffing requirement.

Responsibilities may include:

• Delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils as they develop literacy and numeracy skills
• Using effective classroom and behaviour-management strategies
• Adapting learning for different abilities and additional needs
• Monitoring pupil progress during longer placements
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and school staff
• Following individual school policies and safeguarding procedures

The exact responsibilities will depend on the school and type of placement.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’d particularly like to hear from teachers who:

• Hold QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience teaching within primary education
• Understand the KS1 curriculum
• Build positive relationships with children
• Create engaging and supportive learning environments
• Are reliable, adaptable and professional
• Have high expectations for pupils
