Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Dartford, Kent)

Salary: £86.50 – £100.00 per day

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive primary school?

A thriving primary school in Dartford,Kent, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and speech and language needs.

As a key member of the learning support team, you’ll work one-to-one and in small groups to help children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and make academic progress in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN

  • Assist with classroom learning in core subjects such as Maths and English

  • Implement strategies from EHCPs and support pupils’ individual learning plans

  • Promote independence, self-esteem, and social development

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, ideally in a primary school setting

  • Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build rapport with children, staff, and families

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) – essential

  • A caring, proactive, and flexible approach to support

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – desirable

  • First Aid or safeguarding training – an advantage

  • Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm, Term Time Only)
