About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities may include:

• Supervising secondary school classes during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities and instructions.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Encouraging pupils to remain focused and complete their work.
• Supporting students with questions about assigned activities.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

Assignments may involve working across different subjects and year groups, depending on your experience and the school’s requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have:

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence leading groups and maintaining positive behaviour.
• A professional, reliable and adaptable approach.
• The ability to follow lesson instructions and school procedures.
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Previous Cover Supervisor experience is beneficial but not always essential.
