FORWARD TEACHING are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for our client based in Southwark.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clear Enhanced DBS
  • Have a passion for working with children with special needs
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy knowledge
  • General understanding of the national curriculum
  • Strong understanding, patience, and sensitivity

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work close with teachers, other teaching assistants and parents
  • Interact and adapt teaching methods to fit individual needs
  • Communicate with the teacher about the student’s progression and then provide feedback to the pupils
  • Work with the teacher to support pupils to achieve learning goals
  • Promote good behaviour and deal with any challenges
  • Prepare and use equipment/resources to meet lesson plans. Assist pupils when using them
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Working with or caring for children

LICENCE/CERTIFICATION:

  • NVQ 2 in teaching assistant or equivalent qualifications
  • Completion of Teacher Assistant Induction Programme
  • First aid training

WORK LOCATION: In-person
